Hubby is helping our friends put a new roof on their house.

Wild Kingdom: Backyard Flora
These beautiful flowers popped up on a bush in our backyard. The bush doesn’t look like much but the blooms are nice.
Bathroom Renovation almost complete
Update: Photos to come soon! Bathroom is painted a lovely shade of “silver birch” and the last step is the trim. (I took the “coordinating colors” card off the Glidden website to show you the color. Of course everyone’s computer monitor will be slightly different to dramatically different so, the color would be best described as a muted silvery-greenish-greyish…Very Spa! Got it?)
So. Jersey Reporter: Florida
Above: Photos are from Sarasota Florida at the Ringling museum (Ringling – barnum baily circus- etc) The founders roamed Europe around the 1920’s and accumulated lots of art and built a big estate and lost almost everything in the depression. They donated the house, grounds and art to the state of florida. (The first pic was a model of a circus set up. It was so huge that I couldn’t get it all in the photo)
This is a Banyan tree. See the branches that send down “legs” to support their sidways growth?

There may be a few of these posts because we really like the beach so I am thinking about setting up a system of “quick facts” that will give you all of the details without boring you to death. Of course I will post pictures and it will be more of a slide-show than a narrative of the day.
Date: March 20th, 2010
Time: Arrived 11am – Departed 3pm
Location: Island Beach State Park, NJ
Temperature: 67 – 72 degrees (windy)
Activities: Fishing (Hubby), Reading (Jebba)
Wildlife: Red Fox, Diving Bird, “devils purse”/ “mermaids purse”
Notes: The fox definitely looked hungry and confused. We know that they eat the beach plums when they are in season but, I think that the unseasonably warm weather brought this guy out a little too early. The diving bird stayed under water for about 38 seconds at a time. The “mermaid’s purse is the left over egg pouch that once held the eggs of the skate. Hubby did not catch any fish but it was still quite an enjoyable day.

“Time to Eat” – Dinner edition
Of course we have been to the “Time to Eat” Diner before and they have literally 1 million choices so we will most likely be back there a few times more before this blog has ended.
We went for dinner this time.
The meal was underwhelming – I wasn’t looking for anything super spectacular BUT it was just …meh..
I had the “Greek Trio” which cam with a greek salad and soup (I chose Split Pea).
The trio was pastichio, moussaka, and spanikopita. I guess everyone makes their own version of these because not one of these was how I would have expected them to be. The salad and soup were good so that was something.
Hubby got a Turkey Club- and his rule of thumb is: “Bad Turkey Club – Bad Diner”. The Turkey Club however, was GOOD! I had a bite of it and everything was fresh and tasty. He chose wisely and I guess I did not.
Huby also got a chocolate Sundae BUT it was gone so fast I didn’t have time to snap a photo.
